Ok I did a serious a/b ( no pun intended ) test on the API 550b and 550A. tried both on program material on 2 buss. To my ears the 550 A was sweeter, rounder, smoother and light years ahead in the low end. The extra band on the 550b is nice I guess and there is plenty of high end to fiddle with but dang, seemed like the 550A kinda blew its
